Q1: Where do I start?

A:  1. It's not too early to start now.
2. Start by contacting me on the "Contact" button.
3. I'll make an appointment and discuss your needs.

Q2: Why does photography cost so much?

A:  I like to say, "Anyone can take pictures but not everyone is a photographer."  That's because it's easy to think that all a photographer does is to take a few pictures of your ceremony.  There are several good reasons to hire a professional:
  • This is a once in a lifetime event.  You are taking a huge chance by asking a friend or relative to take pictures no matter how well intentioned they may be.
  • A wedding or other special event is no time to learn how to use the features of your camera.  There are dozens of photographic techniques that are involved and it takes training and experience to use them correctly.
  • You want your photographer to take charge of the photographic experience without being rude to your friends and relatives.  Believe me...you'll all have fun.
  • We have over 25 years of combined wedding experience.  We have studied the work of many other photographers, have tried things that work (and don't work), and can now give you what we call "A Day to Remember" in the very best ways.
  • Finally, most of our work is done AFTER the ceremony in our digital dark room.  (See a portrait example below.)

Q3:  Why does it take so long for me to see my pictures?

A:  I DO NOT LIKE ANYONE TO SEE ANY POOR PICTURES!  We try to get your pictures to you as soon as possible.  However, we carefully edit each picture several times before it's acceptable for viewing.  Remember that there may easily be 1000 or more pictures of your wedding that I need to review - even if you are are only going to receive a small fraction of that number.  If I release them before this editing process, what you get are inferior pictures and not a true representation of what you will finally be receiving.

Q4:  What do you do with my pictures after you've taken them?

A:  Each picture is carefully edited.  I take out undesirable things such as ash trays, fire extinguishers, hands and feet of other poeple that detract from your photo.  I crop them for the best presentation of the "story" that's in that picture.  But most of all, I adjust for color, skin tones, and take out blemishes and other "problem areas" to make you look like you would on your best day ever.
